Railway stop KARLOVAC CENTAR is predicted at km 478 + 495 of the railway line Zagreb - Rijeka, on section Karlovac - Mrzlo Polje. Planned location for the new stop is located on the opposite side of the bus station, between the crossing of Kralja Tomislava Street and Tadije Smičiklasa Street. Platform of the railway stop is 160m long and 4.5m wide, with height of 55cm above the top edge of the rail. Platform slope in the cross direction is 2%.
High efficiency railway line Zagreb-Rijeka, section Hrv.Leskovac-Skradnik
Preliminary design of the high efficiency railway line Zagreb-Rijeka on section Hrvatski Laskovac - Krasica contains variants of the route line and design possibilities for reconstruction of the existing stations, as well as suggestions for new stations. After investments predicted within this project are realized, line length will shorten to 170.3 – 174.0 km (depending on the version of the new route).
New interlocking system on Zagreb Main Station
In Zagreb Main Station is currently installed VES Siemens-Halske interlocking and signalling system (1939.). In the year 2009. invitation to tender was published for project of substitution of currently installed VES Siemens-Halske interlocking and signalling system (1939.) with new, computer-based interlocking and signalling system. The project is funded by the EU IPA funds, and basis for the entire project was main design made by Željezničko projektno društvo d.d.
STUDY OF MODERNIZATION OF PAN-EUROPEAN CORRIDOR X
Part of Corridor X that passes through Croatia is mostly
used for transit traffic between first and last point of the Corridor. Study of modernization of the Pan-European Corridor X gives a proposal for modernization of railway lines and stations, a new station layout and the measures necessary to achieve continuous double-track line with a speed of 160 km/h and with modern interlocking systems and ETCS (European Train Control System).
